Heckerz Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to spreading joy and creating lasting memories for individuals, with a special focus on the Marshallese community. Through our Birthday Sponsorship Program, we help celebrate Kemems, the first birthday in Marshallese culture, a milestone that holds deep significance. Kemem is more than just a birthday—it is a cultural tradition that marks the beginning of a child’s life, particularly in the context of historical events that have affected the Marshall Islands. Due to the devastating effects of nuclear testing in the region, many children were born with birth defects, making the celebration of Kemem even more meaningful.
Our mission is to ensure that all children, especially those impacted by these historical events, receive the celebration they deserve. By providing birthday gifts, parties, and experiences, we aim to honor the resilience of the Marshallese people and make every Kemem a day of joy and remembrance.
